XK engines and unleaded fuel. E-Type. Heuer (David Jones) October 4, 2019, 5:25pm 1. Someone raised this topic on the UK Forum and I am surprised by the (historical) Jaguar response when asked about using unleaded fuel: I have checked all the Service and Parts Bulletins but there is no mention of a change to valve seat material.

Before you rush off and buy an engine and gearbox, measure up the dimensions of the Daimler V8 and gearbox combination very carefully, because the body pressings which cover the bellhousing and gearbox are much smaller in the Daimler V8, than the Jaguar equivalent car (Mark 2 or 240/340) So if you want to fit a Jaguar XK six cylinder engine you will need to cut away the existing metal and weld.
